The Department of Public Health and Environment adopted amendments to regulations governing composting at solid waste sites and facilities. The amendments increase allowable Type 2 feedstock volumes for conditionally exempt small quantity facilities, permit certain Class I facilities to accept off-site food waste, implement a standard operator training requirement for Class I, II, and III facilities, and update requirements for sampling, storage, and use of finished compost and soil amendments.
