The North Dakota Industrial Commission proposed to amend N.D. Admin. Code 43-02-02 and adopt 43-03-07.1 and 43-02-13, concerning in situ leach uranium mining, deep geothermal energy production, and high-level radioactive waste. The amendments and adoptions would, among other things, ensure that facility permits are reviewed at least once every five years, add an annual operating fee to cover monitoring and inspection costs, and specify when a radiological monitoring plan must be developed.
