The Department of Natural Resources proposed to amend R645-103, §200, which determines which proposed coal mining proposals can be authorized in accordance with state and federal law. The Department also proposed changing R645-201, §300, to mandate public notification for coal exploit projects. There will be a public hearing for both proposals on June 23, 2010, and the deadline for public comments is July 15.
