The Department of Food and Agriculture amended Cal. Code Regs. tit. 3, §3423(b), pertaining to the Oriental Fruit Fly interior quarantine. The amendments remove 84 square miles of land from the area under quarantine, and removes authority from the state of California to regulate movement of the fly in the recently de-quarantined zone. The public comment period ends July 19, 2010, and the Department intends to submit a Certificate of Compliance for this action no later than August 31, 2010. http://www.oal.ca.gov/res/docs/pdf/notice/23z-2010.pdf pp. 811-813.
