The South Coast Air Quality Management District (AQMD) will hold a public hearing on proposed amendments to Proposed Rule 1143, Consumer Paint Thinners and Multi-Purpose Solvents. The amendments are intended to reduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions by establishing VOC limits for consumer paint thinners and multi-purpose solvents and are applicable to any person who supplies, sells, offers for sale, or manufactures consumer paint thinners and multi-purpose solvents for sale in the AQMD as well as any person who uses or solicits the use of any consumer paint thinners and multi-purpose solvents within the AQMD.
