The Department of Health and Human Services established the Office of Climate Change and Health Equity as directed by Executive Order No. 14008, Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad.

The president issued Exec. Order No. 14037, Strengthening American Leadership in Clean Cars and Trucks, calling for new rulemakings to promote clean and efficient cars and trucks in the United States and setting a goal that 50% of all new passenger cars and light trucks sold in 2030 be zero emission vehicles.

EPA proposed to revise the greenhouse gas emissions standards for light-duty vehicles for 2023 and later model years to make the standards more stringent.

The president issued Exec. Order No. 14030, Climate-Related Financial Risk, to establish a governmentwide strategy regarding the measurement, assessment, mitigation, and disclosure of climate-related financial risk to federal government programs, assets, and liabilities, and the financing needs associated with achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, limiting global average temperature rise to 1.5 degrees Celsius, and adapting to acute and chronic impacts of climate change.

The president issued Exec. Order No. 14027, Establishment of the Climate Change Support Office; the order establishes a temporary organization within the State Department to support bilateral and multilateral engagement to address the climate crisis.
