The Federal Transit Administration announced preliminary implementation instructions and guidance, funding apportionment, and descriptions for future plans for several competitive programs in accordance with amendments to federal public transportation law by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. 

The president issued Executive Order No. 14072, Strengthening the Nation's Forests, Communities, and Local Economies; among other things, the order directs federal agencies to inventory old-growth and mature forests on federal lands and develop policies to protect them from threats like wildfire and climate change, and to develop a federal goal for meeting agency-specific reforestation targets by 2030.

CEQ amended certain provisions of its regulations for implementing NEPA that address the purpose and need of a proposed action, agency NEPA procedures for implementing CEQ's NEPA regulations, and the definition of "effects"; these amendments generally restore provisions that were in effect for decades before being modified in 2020. 

The Department of State announced that the United States and Singapore intend to hold a biennial review under the United States-Singapore Memorandum of Intent on Environmental Cooperation. 

The Department of Health and Human Services seeks comment on a draft outline for the 2022 Environmental Justice Strategy and Implementation Plan. 

DOE seeks comment regarding the implementation of grants for energy efficiency improvements and renewable energy improvements at public school facilities under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. 

EPA announced the National Environmental Justice Advisory Council's two-day virtual public meeting on Wednesday, April 20, 2022, and Thursday, April 21, 2022, from approximately 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time. 

The Federal Transit Administration announced the opportunity to apply for approximately $1.1 billion in competitive grants under the fiscal year 2022 Low or No Emission Grant Program and approximately $372 million in fiscal year 2022 funds under the Grants for Buses and Bus Facilities Program. 

CEQ seeks feedback on the beta version of the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool, which identifies communities that exhibit conditions of underinvestment in energy, transit, housing and water infrastructure, disproportionate pollution burden, and job training and employment, as directed by Executive Order No. 14008, Tackling the Climate Crisis at Home and Abroad.
