Washington: Toxic Substances

The Department of Ecology proposed to adopt a new rule concerning the financial responsibility of the transport of petroleum products.

Texas: Water

The Water Development Board proposed amendments to regulations governing the designation of river and coastal basins. The amendments would modernize the rule language and update the storage method of digital files for Texas' designated river and coastal basins. Comments are due March 4, 2024.

Ohio: Governance

The Environmental Protection Agency proposed amendments to regulations governing administrative penalties. The amendments would remove section B to align with statutory changes and allow the agency to use standard state administrative penalties rather than separate detailed penalty amounts based on the lead and copper rules. A hearing will be held March 15, 2024. Comments are due the same date.

North Dakota: Waste

The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to amend existing rules and adopt new rules concerning solid waste management and land protection.

Mississippi: Water

The Department of Environmental Quality proposed to adopt a new Section 303(d) List of Impaired Water Bodies. The new list would replace the previous version and identify waters within the state for which recent monitoring and assessment have found pollutant specific impairment and for which TMDLs are not yet completed.
