Washington: Land use

The Forest Practices Board has proposed a rule, WSR 8-03-009, to achieve desired future conditions in riparian management zones. This rule proposal amends WAC 222-30-021 to change timber harvest and leave tree requirements in riparian management zones adjacent to Type S and F Waters as defined in WAC 222-16-030. Washington: Water

The Department of Ecology is soliciting public comment on the draft Assessment of Water Quality for the CWA §§303(d) and 305(b) Integrated Report. The assessment, which fulfills reporting requirements of the Clean Water Act, is designed to create a picture of water quality in Washington's waters. Several informational public workshops will be held to explain the draft and how to access the information using the interactive mapping tool. Comments are due March 21, 2008.

Washington: Wildlife

The Department of Fish and Wildlife has proposed rules to amend the hunting seasons, permit quotas, and permissible equipment for several big game species and to reclassify the Eurasian collared dove as a predatory bird, allowing it to be taken year-round with a hunting license. Arizona: Air

The Department of Environmental Quality, Air Pollution Control will conduct a public hearing to consider the amendment of R18-2-1006, 1009, 1010, 1011, 1019, and 1027 to incorporate procedures for a "liquid fuel leak" test into the vehicle emissions inspections and maintenance program. Addition of this test is expected to reduce emissions of volatile organic compounds to help the Phoenix and Tucson areas meet the NAAQS for ozone.

Arizona: Air

The Department of Environmental Quality, Air Pollution Control has issued notice of a rulemaking docket opening. The Department is considering amending its current air pollution emergency episodes rule to update it and bring it into conformity with federal requirements at 40 CFR §§51.151, 51.152, and 51.153. http://www.azsos.gov/public_services/Register/2008/6/docket.pdf.

Arizona: Waste

The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has adopted amendments to the state§s hazardous waste rules to incorporate changes in federal regulations implementing Subtitle C of RCRA. The amendments in this final rule adopt most changes to the federal regulations that became effective from July 1, 2005, through June 30, 2006, and in addition, two groups of amendments to the regulations that became effective after June 30, 2006. DEQ has also modified the Performance Track provisions so that they apply to members of Arizona§s Performance Track Program.

California: Air

The Air Resources Board will conduct a public hearing to consider adoption of amendments to the California Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) regulation to reflect the state of technologies and to create an opportunity for new ZEV enabling vehicle technologies to contribute to compliance. California: Water

The Department of Water Resources will conduct a public hearing on the proposal to amend and add to Sections 490§495 in Chapter 2.7 of Division 2 of Title 23 of the California Code of Regulations. These sections pertain to a Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance (Model Ordinance) that would apply to all local agencies, including chartered cities and counties, that have not adopted the Model Ordinance or another ordinance which is at least as effective as the Model Ordinance. The hearing will be held March 27, 2008. Comments are due March 27, 2008.
