The Nevada Division of Environmental Protection will conduct a public hearing to consider the amendment to NAC 445B to make it consistent with NRS 445B.825. The proposed amendment will grant an application for a waiver from emissions standards for all light-duty gasoline powered motor vehicles with a model year 1996 or newer after a sufficient attempt has been made to correct deficiencies that have caused a failure of an emissions inspection. The hearing will be held March 18, 2008.

This regulation would amend chapter 444 of the Nevada Administrative Code. The State Environmental Commission will conduct a public hearing to consider Regulation R005-08: Secondary Containment for USTs. The proposed regulation would amend existing provisions governing storage tanks in NAC 459.9921 to 459.999. They would require the use of secondary containment with leak detection on all new or replaced USTs and piping regulated under Subtitle I of RCRA and NRS 459.800 to 459.856. The regulations are based on requirements developed by the U.S. Congress in the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The hearing will be held March 18, 2008.

New Hampshire: Water

The Department of Environmental Services will conduct a public hearing to consider the readoption of Env-Wq 1700 (currently Env-Ws 1700), with amendments. The existing rules set forth narrative and numeric water quality criteria for support of designated uses in RSA 485-A:8. The rules would be readopted and redesignated as Env-Wq 1700 as part of the Department§s larger effort. The proposed revisions are intended to clarify the rules to allow for greater understanding and compliance. The hearing will be held March 14, 2008. Comments are due March 24, 2008.
