EPA Region 10 reissued the NPDES general permit for federal aquaculture facilities and aquaculture facilities located in Indian country in Washington.

EPA released a decision framework for use by the Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxics New Chemicals Division for identification of eye irritation or corrosion hazards for new chemical substances based on prioritization of reproducible, human-relevant data.

Under a proposed modified consent decree, a settling CWA defendant that allegedly violated an NPDES permit by exceeding its discharge limits for total phosphorus and pH, which contributed to contamination, eutrophication, and the growth of toxic cyanobacteria in the Merrymeeting River must achieve compliance with the CWA and its permit by the end of 2025. 

EPA announced the establishment of the Vector Expedited Review Voucher program, which will incentivize the development of new insecticides to control and prevent the spread of vector-borne disease. 

EPA proposed to promulgate an aquatic life designated use that includes propagation and protective water quality criteria for dissolved oxygen for Zone 3, Zone 4, and upper Zone 5 of the Delaware River. 

EPA announced the initiation of and seeks comment on the prioritization process for five chemical substances as candidates for designation as high-priority substances for risk evaluation under TSCA and related implementing regulations.

EPA approved Texas’ revisions to its Public Water System Supervision program that adopted the Agency’s drinking water rules for the Revised Total Coliform Rule and Ground Water Rule.
