The Clean Water Commission proposed amendments to its effluent regulations. The revisions would, among other things, modify the definition of losing streams, incorporate requirements for water reuse discharges, and add statewide nutrient reduction requirements for certain point sources. EPA proposed a regulation revising technology-based effluent limitations guidelines (ELGs) and standards for the steam electric power generating point source category applicable to flue gas desulfurization wastewater, bottom ash transport water, and combustion residual leachate at existing sources, and solicited comment on ELGs for legacy wastewater.
EPA announced the availability of and seeks comment on the Preliminary Effluent Limitations Guidelines Program Plan 15, which discusses the Agency's 2020 annual review of effluent limitations guidelines and pretreatment standards, the preliminary review of the specific categories identified through the 2020 review, and new and ongoing rulemaking actions.
