Forest Service's sale of timber in the East Meadow Creek Area of the White River National Forest and the harvest of that timber by a lumber company enjoined pending a determination by the president and Congress regarding the inclusion of the East Meadow Creek Area in a wilderness area to be created from the contiguous Gore Range-Eagles Nest Primitive Area pursuant to the Wilderness Act of 1964, 16 U.S.C. §§1131 et seq. Under the Wilderness Act, the Secretary of Agriculture must include the East Meadow Creek Area in his wilderness study report to the President and Congress on the Gore Range—Eagles Nest Primitive Area because of its wilderness qualities and contiguity to that primitive area.
