Marshfield, Town of v. Federal Aviation Admin.

ELR Citation: ELR 20305
No(s). 07-2820 (1st Cir. Dec 18, 2008)

The First Circuit denied a petition for review of the Federal Aviation Agency's (FAA's) decision to reroute aircraft approaching and departing Logan Airport in Boston. Peer-reviewed noise studies showed that the impact on noise levels would not be significant. Accordingly, the FAA did not err in finding that the rerouting measures required no environmental assessment or environmental impact statement. Nor did the FAA violate the National Historical Preservation Act or the Federal Advisory Committee Act.
