The court approves a settlement in which the federal government agrees that §114(c) of the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) does not preclude the state of New Jersey from using its Spill Compensation Fund to finance hazardous waste cleanup and compensate damage claims pursuant to the New Jersey Spill Compensation and Control Act or CERCLA.
