EPA authorized revisions to North Dakota's hazardous waste management program under RCRA.

EPA issued an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking concerning potential revisions to the criteria for municipal solid waste landfills to address advances in liquids management.

United States v. Sherwin-Williams Co., No. 1:19-cv-01907 (D.N.J. Jan. 30, 2019). A settling CERCLA defendant must reimburse the United States $1,460,758 for costs EPA incurred in response to the release of hazardous substances at the Sherwin-Williams/Hilliards Creek site and the United States Avenue Burn site, and perform the soils and sediments operable unit remedy at the United States Avenue Burn site.

EPA entered into a settlement agreement under CERCLA to perform work at the Koppers Co., Inc. Superfund site in Charleston, South Carolina.

SIP Approval: Wisconsin (reasonable further progress plan for the Wisconsin portion of the Chicago-Naperville, Illinois-Indiana-Wisconsin 2008 ozone nonattainment area).

SIP Proposal: Illinois (interstate transport requirements for the 2012 fine particulate matter NAAQS).

SIP Approval: Pennsylvania (nonattainment new source review requirements for the 2008 eight-hour ozone NAAQS).

United States v. Holyoke, Massachusetts, City of, No. 19-cv-10332 (D. Mass. Feb. 21, 2019). A settling CWA defendant that discharged pollutants from its wastewater collection system without authorization and not in compliance with its NPDES permit must submit a long-term, combined sewer overflow plan by December 31, 2019.

EPA accepted Kansas' negative declaration certifying that sewage sludge incineration units subject to CAA §§111(d) and 129 do not exist within its jurisdiction.
